Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

What is customer service? Customer service is that of providing people with a positive, helpful experience before, during or after buying something. I believe that you have to create a relationship with the individual to be able to draw them in to be able to sell something to them. There are seven guidelines to follow with tweaks here and there depending on the company and service you are providing, but these would mainly be used in face to face interaction with the customer. First and foremost you want to create a great first impression with the customer meaning greet them properly and always have a smile on your face. This helps to make them feel welcome and that they have entered a friendly yet helpful environment. Following this is to look and listen to the customers’ wants and needs. If you are doing a lot of talking and not listening to them you will not be able to provide the customer properly and then you might have an unsatisfied client. To inspire the customer is to get them excited about the product they are looking for or what you found that is comparable to that. It makes them feel like they have found something special and then creates a great experience, they will feel like you really understand them and want to shop with you over and over again. That is what customer service is all about is client retention. You will also want to engage with them find out a few personal details and even share a few with them, it helps the customer to relax and feel at ease. A company like Zappos understands all of this, they believe you have to “Build open and honest relationships with communication” to “Create fun and a little weirdness.” Value number one: “Deliver WOW through service!” . At this point you will go right in and nail the sale; you have pretty much got it in the bag. Once you have finished the transaction you always want to thank them and invite them back to shop with you. When using all these tools together it creates an experience like no other for the customer and for me I’ve received several praise and good reviews from my clients even hugs and it makes me feel good to know that I have made it special for them.
